Katrina Kaif - Not in Ajit Film?

Salman's Girl Firend, Katrina Kaif is not coming to Kollywood in the near future. Earlier it was reported that she is going to be Ajit’s heroine in Raju Sundaram new film for Ayngaran International. The buzz is that on second thoughts, Katrina has decided to stay put in Bollywood, which is far more lucrative and career wise a better choice as far as she is concerned.

Ajit and Raju Sundaram are in a big fix, as they were depending on Katrina joining them in the first week of March for the talkie portion of the film. Now they will have to start another heroine hunt in a hurry, as the project is already delayed.

Arya - Nila in Love???

Arya and Nila were not acted as pair in any movies. But, In Tamil film industry rumor is that love sparks between them were sparked in International Tamil Film Awards Singapore function. Both are dating and both cell phones are engaged continuously. On Valentine day (Feb 14), actress Nila went toTheni, to be with her lover Arya who was shooting there for Njaan Kadavul. The young couple who are in love are planning to get married by the end of the year. Now, Nila is not signing any new films even after her last super hit release Maruthamalai.

Earlier Arya was in rumor with his earlier heroines Pooja and Padmapriya and Nila was in news with her director SJ surya.

Paruthiveeran - A Rare Feet

The 58th Berlin International Film Festival has started on Feb 7 and will go up to Feb 17. Paruthiveeran directed by Ameer is being screened at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival popularly known as Berlinale. The Berlinale is a festival of encounters and discussions. With more than 200,000 tickets sold, the Berlinale is not only a film industry meeting it also enjoys by far the largest audience of any film festival in the world. Last week Shah Rukh Khan was at Berlin with his Om Shanti Om and was mobbed by fans as he was given the red carpet reception at the festival. Only three shows of his OSO was held, but it was sold out in seven minutes! Ever since German TV started showing Bollywood films SRK has become huge and very popular among the Germans who simply love his movies. one of the highlights was Paruthiveeran was not a last minute entry; it was confirmed as early as September last year for the festival.

Who is Vishal's Love interest?

Vishal who made a statement to a tamil weekly magazine that he is in love with a top actress. The media jumped the gun and said it was Priyamani, who had done Malakottai with him. Priyamani who is rumoured to be in love with a young Telugu actor denied that she is Vishal’s love! Once her denial was flashed by the evening papers, the media then shifted its stance and said it was Nayanthara, who was Vishal’s 'mysterious obsession'.

Nayanthara: Vishal has all the right and freedom to say whatever he wants to. Please note that he has not mentioned my name, it could be any other actresses? Why me? But the media has made its own inferences and dragged my name into it. Let me make it clear that Vishal is a good co-star and we share a great rapport on sets.

His statement may be for publicity, who knows?

Meena in Kuselan

Finally Meena who did the Malayalam original has been signed up for Kuselan to play Pasupathi’s wife. Simran was the first choice. The character of Sreenivasan was built around Meena’s sympathies and her desire that he meets his old friend now a superstar played by Mammootty and tells him about their difficulties.

Now in the Tamil version if Meena has a similar dialogues it will work big time with the audiences because with Rajinikanth she has worked in films like Veera,Yajaman,Muthu.

Kunal commits suicide!!

Kunal who made his debut in Tamil with Kathir directed Kathalar Dhinam (1999), committed suicide at his flat in Mumbai. He was said to be depressed during the last few months. He will be remembered for the A.R Rahman music of his debut film Kathalar Dhinam. Who can forget the haunting Rojaa, Rojaa… and the melodious Daandiya Aatumadam… picturised on Kunal and the strikingly beautiful Sonali Bendre.

Kunal a north Indian has done about a dozen films in Tamil as a young hero, but none of his films were hits. The titles were Varsham Ellam Vasantham, Paesadha Kannum Paesumae (Coincidence is that the heroine of this film Monal had also committed suicide), Unnarchigal and his last release Nanbanin Kathali.

Superstar Rajinikanth - Biography

Chennai based ophthalmologist Dr.Gayathri Shrikanth has written a biography of Superstar Rajinikanth titled "Rajini Pera Kettale" in Tamil and an English translation "The name is Rajinikant". The book will be officially launched on 1st March 2008 at Chennai. Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachan, Swami Dayananda Saraswathy and Tamil film personalities are participating in this event. The book has a foreword written by the chief minister of Tamilnadu , 'Kalaignar' M.Karunanidhi and another by Kamal Haasan. It will be an event to remember when Rajini, Big-B and Kamal will come together for the launch of Dr. Gayathri Shrikanth's book.

Kuselan, title to change??

The title Kuselan might undergo a change. The writer-actor Sreenivasan, who wrote the Malayalam original, is skeptical about the present title. According to mythology, Kuselan was Krishna's childhood friend who approaches his rich pal during trying times. But the main character in the original does not so the same. So he feels that the title might not be very apt. Nothing has been confirmed about this.

Dhanush & Shriya

Dhanush and Shriya the hot pair of Thiruvilayadal Aarambam is coming together again. Dhanush, director Vetrimaran, cameraman Vel Raj, music director G.V.Prakash Kumar, editor V.T.Vijayan and stunt master Rambo Rajkumar are coming together (Polladhavan Team) in this action based thriller.

Director wanted to give the title Sevvel for the film but Hari had already registered the title for his new film with Bharath. Now Vetri is on the look out for a new and apt title for the film, and chances are there that it may be an old Rajnikanth title. The film will be produced by Kathiresan and the shooting will start in the first week of April in Chennai. Shriya is all thrilled to be cast opposite Dhanush with whom she had her first big hit in Tamil Thiruvilayadal Aarambam. She hopes to complete her Kanthasamy schedule in Feb and March and then join the Dhanush film. The cast will also have the Polladhavan villains Kishore and Daniel Balaji (This time not as bad guys!)

Meanwhile, Dhanush has kept the remake of Telugu super hit ‘Arya’ to be produced by Gemini Lab in the backburner as the director or heroine has not been fixed.

Katrina in Ajit Film

Ajit and his director Raju Sundaram has managed to convince Katrina Kaif to do their Ayngaran produced tamil film. The film was to be originally done by Shriya, but after she did the cameo dance number with Vadivel in INA, a furious Ajit refused to do the film with her. Later there was a desperate attempt for patch up and it looked like Shriya would make a comeback into the project, as the talkie portion was to start in the first week of February in Ooty.

But Raju Sundaram and Ajit were still talking to Katrina who came down to Chennai last week to meet her boy friend Salman Khan who was shooting for the Hindi version of Pokkiri at Binny Mills. This time they were able to convince Katrina who is one of the hottest heroines in Bollywood especially after her Welcome turned out to be 2007’s biggest hit. She is said to be “lucky” and now paired with the hottest hero in Kollywood, the project has suddenly become big. The market buzz is that Katrina is being paid a bomb, rumored to be 1 Crore to do this Ajit film.

Nayanthara’s hat-trick!

Nayanthara is almost confirmed to play Rajnikanth’s pair in P.Vasu directed Kuselan! Kuselan is going to be a hat-trick for Nayanthara who has been the superstar’s heroine in Chandramukhi and did a special song with him in Sivaji. The pair is very popular with the masses, as they have terrific on- screen chemistry.

Indiralokathil Na Azhagappan Releasing Big

Vadivel and his Indiralokathil Na Azhagappan(INA) which has got a clean 'U' certificate is going to have a big release all over Tamilnadu with nearly 200 prints. There is a craze among distributors to screen the film, especially in NSC, Salem, TK and Madurai areas where the comedy king is huge. Meanwhile literally Sadhu Mirandal! It was supposed to release on Feb 1 with INA, but has now decided not to clash with the biggie and postponed its release to next Friday. As it is only two small movies are due to clash with INA , Asokha and Thangam. In Chennai city the fortress of superstars, Vadivel is releasing big in seven screens including the prestigious Sathyam and Inox! INA will also replace many of the Pongal duds across screens in Tamilnadu.

Meera Jasmine's Love

Meera Jasmine has confessed to a leading Malayalam newspaper about her "deep love and feelings" for Mandolin U.Rajesh, brother of Mandolin U.Srinivasan. Later at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram she was all praise for Rajesh and said-"I' am enjoying total peace with myself and I 'm grateful to God for that.” Meera for a change looked extremely happy and contended and did not blame the media for a change. Now the big question that the media in Kerala is asking - "When will the wedding bells chime for Meera and Rajesh?"

Aishwarya in Robot

Aishwarya Rai has been confirmed to play Rajinikanth's heroine in Shankar directed Robot! The actress herself confirmed this to the Hindi news channel "Aaj Tak" and its sister channel in English "Headlines Today" that she is going to do Robot. But official press release is yet to be done.

Jeevan`s Thotta

The audio of Jeevan’s Thotta had a soft launch. The music for Thotta is by Srikanth Deva and the buzz is that the songs are melodious, something that we cannot identify with the music director. The film directed by Selva is slated for release by second week of February and has Priya Mani is the female lead.

Maddy's Next

Madhavan’s new film Yaavarum Nalam is complete. It is a bilingual being made in Tamil and Hindi, directed by Vikram.K.Kumar, who has done Ishtam in Telugu and Alai with Simbu in Tamil. Yaavarum Nalam (All is well) in Tamil and in Hindi Sab Khayriyat (working title), will have Maddy and heroine Neetu Chandra (Traffic Signal & Garam Masala fame) as common factor. The ‘A’ list of technicians are working for Yaavarum Nalam- Music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, editor Sreekar Prasad, art director Samir Chanda and cinematography by the master cameraman P.C Sreeram.

K.Bhagyaraj Daughter - Attempted Suicide

Saranya (23), Daughter of noted actor and director K.Bhagyaraj and Poornima was admitted to Malar hospital in Adyar, Chennai after she attempted suicide, on Tuesday morning. The buzz is that she had cut her left wrist and the reason is attributed to love failure. Her friends say that she was having a mental depression for the last few months during which she attempted suicide three times.
